“EdICTs were commissioned to do a Quality Assurance review of our Information Technology department in this 1,700 ‘outstanding’ High school. The review involved looking at our data, scrutinising students’ work, student voice interviews and observing lessons. Jim was punctilious, very thorough and easy for all my colleagues to work with. He identified areas of strength, which empowered teaching colleagues and identified areas for improvement. He gave many practical strategies to help colleagues address the ‘gaps’ in the faculty’s performance. These were well received. I would have no hesitation in recommending EdICTs’ work to schools.”
Steve Oliver, Director of Quality Assurance, Plymstock School.
“EdICTs were responsible for the whole IT fit out for our new state of the art school ‘Haileybury Almaty’ in Kazakhstan. From concept to reality, their attention to detail was outstanding and they were always creative and innovative in design and in their solutions to problems and calm, controlled and realistic in delivery. In an ambitious construction programme, with tight deadlines, they were always well ahead of schedule and without them, we would never have opened on time for a new academic year. David Sutton has huge experience in his field, based on a career in education. He inspires confidence and leads an impressive team of highly skilled technicians. We would not think of going elsewhere for our next new school project.
I can only recommend them in the highest terms.”
Alister Bartholomew, Director of Educational Development, Capital Partners.
“The EdICTs team have been contracted to support the strategic development of ICT within the school and colleges in the Bailiwick of Guernsey on an annual basis since 2000. They have advised our primary schools on ICT policy and practice and acted as the design consultancy for the new build schools which include two SEN special schools, one with an integrated design with co-located secondary school and two refurbishment projects. They are currently supporting a new secondary school build.
EdICTs also contributed to the development of the Guernsey ICT framework now in use by all primary and special schools to embed the use of technologies into teaching and learning. Over the time of their engagement they have supported the development and roll out of 3 managed services, advising on the output specifications, functional specification, user acceptance test programmes and operational readiness reviews. During the last 2 years EdICTs have advised us on the development of a new integrated learning environment involving a complex infrastructure of thin client and hybrid technology. Their particular strength is stakeholder engagement and the management of relationships with both schools and suppliers.”
Rob Couch, Head of ICT Services, States of Guernsey Education Department.
“We were extremely impressed with the significant work undertaken by EdICTs on the National Strategy’s ‘Strengthening Pedagogy with ICT – Early Adopters’ project. This was an ambitious project in a fast moving and hitherto largely unexplored area. EdICTs’ work involved establishing focus groups of teachers to work with the action research materials; writing up quality case studies, producing accreditation guidance to existing Masters validation routes; and managing and evaluating the use of an on-line forum to facilitate the work – all of which contributed to a national publication for the National Strategies.
Throughout the duration of the project EdICTs’ professional, organised and analytical approach was first class, well respected and much appreciated – working across a wide range of colleagues including groups of teachers, higher education and national agencies. I would fully commend EdICTs’ work without reservation!”
Andrew Weymouth, Senior Adviser, The National Strategies.
“As one of the 17 Innovation Field Projects, trialling 24/7 schooling during 2007/08, myself and my team worked very closely with Liz Hankin of EdICTs as our Innovation Consultant. During this period Liz proved herself to be an invaluable critical friend. Her support was unfailing and her knowledge, creativity and expertise inspiring. EdICTs has a personalised mentoring approach with bespoke actions connecting to a complex network of like minded professionals. Liz has an expertise in ICT, providing profitable experiences from other consultants, that has consequently reorganised the whole of our internal network and information management system for use. Therefore, when I needed a facilitator for our latest venture, EdICTs was my first choice.
I am more than happy to recommend Liz and EdICTs to anyone looking for a first class service with a very personal feel.”
Cheryl Heron, Principal, Bridgemary Community Sports College.
“EdICTs worked closely with HOK from conception to execution of the new School, and fulfilled their responsibilities professionally and thoroughly. I will be pleased to work with David Sutton and his team again in the future and have no hesitation in recommending EdICTs as Educational and Technical ICT consultants.”
Stefan Jakobek, Vice President & Head of School Architecture, HOK International Ltd.
