Jim began his career as an English teacher and SEN Coordinator. He has since developed an expertise in professional development for best use of ICT in the curriculum to enhance learning and teaching. He was Regional Training Coordinator for Intel UK for two years, delivering bespoke ICT training to school staff, HEIs and ITT institutions.

Since then he has been Senior Training Consultant for ICAA (International Curriculum and Assessment Agency), a major NOF provider, for whom he ran National College of School Leadership SLICT courses aimed at Head teachers and Senior Management Teams. He was also on the team invited to pilot the new Building Schools for the Future training for school leaders, also developed by NCSL. He has designed and produced a training course for Teaching Assistants with development funding from the DfES Innovation Unit and ICT in Schools Division, as well as being published by a number of educational publishers and other organisations such as TDA and DCSF.

More recently he has supported education transformation programs on various projects for EdICTs. He also continues to work with the University of Exeter on their ICT PGCE program as a University Visiting Tutor and occasional lecturer.
