EdICTs is please to introduce our new SLA package for primary schools. We offer a two tier support package.

The first tier of the package runs in conjunction with you. Through discussion with yourself to ensure we get the right person for your school, we will seek to appoint a local ICT technician who will provide onsite support for ½ day per week (or more if you wish). This person will receive initial training during the installation and commissioning period and will provide first line support to your school. This technician could be a trusted parent, or we could extend the hours of a teaching assistant. He/she will have access to our senior technical team who will provide telephone support to him/her and will also undertake remote access based maintenance.

The second tier of the support package is through a number of planned days by our senior team to undertake major work and address critical faults if they should arise.

The SLA can be modified in any way to provide a tailored support solution to meet the needs of your school.

EdICTs is delighted to announce that, uniquely, they are working with Mercato Itelligence*. This web-based solution can enable EdICTs’ clients to source the best prices during any procurement stage. Itelligence can be used to track guide prices and stock levels, and to monitor and track price fluctuations. Clients have the opportunity to identify a fair price and agreed margins with their supplier. Clients can stay on top of market developments and plot key market trends to forecast price and stock.

To arrange a demonstration or to find out how you can gain online access, please contact David Sutton, Director EdICTs.

* Itelligence is a web based resource. It gives the spot price of over 700,000 ICT products. This is the price that OEMs charge resellers. This enables us to calculate the profit margin resellers are charging for their service. http:///www.mercatosolutions.com

Whilst this BSF project was terminated in 2010 by the changes in Government policy, the sample school project was allowed to continue. The Local Authority decided to procure the ICT through an OJEU compliant framework. However, the framework suppliers list contained only one company. PfS requested Poole to contract EdICTs to produce a value for money report to ensure that preferred bidder did not exploit their privileged position. Through the use of the Mercato Itelligence facility (Please see the separate Project for details) and through our knowledge of recent procurements, EdICTs was able to demonstrate to the client where profits were excessive. These prices were refined by the supplier prior to the contract being signed. This process resulted in demonstrable value for money procurement that could stand up to any form of scrutiny. This is imperative at a time when there is an increasing number of legal challenges under the EU Remedies Directive.

EdICTs is part of the team of consultants who have been invited to support FutureLab’s Innovation Hubs programme (http://www.futurelab.org.uk/hubs). Schools which are demonstrating innovative and effective practice in a range of areas
will be acting as Innovation Hubs, to spread best practice to other schools. A culture of action research based CPD, supported by NFER’s background in research, ensures teachers become reflective learners and capture the essence of their effective innovation, for sharing with the wider educational community.
