Rob Lamont

Since beginning work with EdICTs in 2007 as a Principal Technical Consultant, Rob has worked on a wide range of projects in a lead capacity whilst also providing support to the wider EdICTs team in the delivery of ‘Building Schools for the Future’ and academy programmes. Rob maintains his current knowledge of educational ICT technology by working as part of a team delivering ICT support and network management to schools. In his spare time, Rob works with a local school to help run a ‘GreenPower’ electric car racing team to compete in the national racing series, becoming national champions in 2008 and 2010.

Rob’s recent experience includes:

•  Haileybury Astana, Astana Kazakhstan (2010 – ongoing) Technical Lead.

•  Oasis Academy Oldham / Oasis Academy Shirley Park (2010) Project Manager / Technical Project Manager; Overseeing the installation of the ICT solution for two Oasis Academies, forming part of the Oasis managed service.

•  East Sussex Diploma Exemplar Project (2009 – 2011) ICT Consultant;
Responsible for the development of a solution to support the delivery of diploma qualifications across the county including the development of a county wide video conference solution, the development of the ICT facilities for four outreach centres and the deployment of 3D technology to schools involved in the project.

•  Brighton Aldridge Community Academy, Brighton (2008 – 2011) ICT Consultant; Advising the Academy on the development of its ICT solution, including the development of infrastructure designs and ICT requirements through liaison with the building contractor to achieve the educational objectives of the academy.

•  Oasis Academy Immingham, N Lincs (2008) Technical Project Manager; Responsible for the delivery of the ICT solution for the opening of the new Academy across the Christmas holidays, including the deployment switches, servers, interactive whiteboards and over six hundred client devices as part of the Oasis Managed Service.

•  Oasis Academy Wintringham, N Lincs (2008) Technical Project Manager; Responsible for the delivery of the technical aspects of the ICT implementation for the opening of the new Academy in a significantly compressed timeframe due to delays in the building programme.

•  Haileybury Almaty, Almaty Kazakhstan (2007-2008) Technical Lead;
Worked with the M&E contractors to develop a design for the ICT infrastructure for the first British school in Kazakhstan. Designed the ICT solution to meet the educational requirement specification and then travelled to Almaty to oversee and lead the installation of the complete ICT Solution.

•  Support of Secondary & Primary Schools, North West (2002-Ongoing) Programme Manager; Providing direct support to a range of some twenty Secondary and Primary schools in the north west of England including advising on the provision of ICT facilities and solutions and providing problem resolution and support as required.
